Metal Fixed Braces
Time-tested, reliable, and more comfortable than ever. Metal fixed braces remain the most effective way to treat complex orthodontic issues for patients of all ages.
Built for complex cases and busy lives
Sometimes, the traditional route is the best route. Metal braces offer unique advantages that clear aligners cannot always match.
Complex Cases
For patients with severe rotation, deep overbites, or impacted teeth, fixed braces offer the biomechanical strength needed to move teeth efficiently. They give your orthodontist 100% control over every tooth's position.
Strong & Robust
Made from high-grade stainless steel, metal braces are incredibly durable. They are designed to withstand the daily wear and tear of chewing and brushing, making them an excellent choice for active teens or adults.
Fun with Colours
Who says braces have to be boring? For our younger patients (and the young at heart!), the small elastic bands used to hold the wire in place come in dozens of colours. You can customize your look at every visit.
Straightforward steps to a new smile
While the technology is advanced, the process for you is simple. We place the braces, you keep them clean, and the wires do the work.

We place your braces.
This is the big day. We gently clean your teeth and bond the small metal brackets to the center of each tooth using a special dental adhesive. We then thread the first flexible wire through the brackets. There are no needles and no pain - just a little pressure.

We refine your smile.
You will visit us approximately every 6 to 8 weeks. During these shorter appointments, we change the wires or add elastic bands to guide your teeth into their final position. This is where the magic happens, as your smile improves millimeter by millimeter.

We debond and retain.
Once your teeth are perfectly aligned, we simply "pop" the brackets off and polish your teeth. You will be given your retainers immediately to ensure your new smile stays straight forever.
Robust. Reliable. Precise.
Fixed metal braces, often called "train tracks," are the most widely used orthodontic treatment in the world for a reason: they work. By using a system of small metal brackets and flexible wires, we can exercise total control over the movement of your teeth, treating even the most severe overcrowding or bite issues with predictable accuracy.
Modern Design.
Total Control.
Fixed - so you never forget to wear them.

The application process is painless. However, when we first place the braces or tighten the wires, your teeth may feel tender for 3 to 5 days. This is a sign that your teeth are moving! Over-the-counter pain relief and a soft diet are usually all that is needed to manage this short period.
Treatment time varies depending on the complexity of your bite, but the average time for fixed metal braces is between 18 and 24 months. Because fixed braces work 24/7, they are often the fastest way to treat severe crowding.
Yes. To prevent breaking a bracket (which can slow down treatment), you should avoid hard, sticky, or chewy foods like toffee, crusty bread, or popcorn. We also recommend cutting apples and raw carrots into small pieces rather than biting into them directly.
Don't panic - this is common. If a bracket comes loose, it will usually stay attached to the wire. Simply cover any sharp edge with the orthodontic wax we provide and call us to schedule a quick repair appointment.
Not at all. While often associated with teenagers, metal braces are a popular choice for adults who prioritise speed and precision over aesthetics. As long as your gums and bone levels are healthy, you can have orthodontic treatment at any age.
