New Patients

New Patients / Ratoath Orthodontics / Braces / Invisalign

What to expect on your first visit?

On your first visit, you will have photographs taken of your teeth and an intra-oral scan, no yucky impressions.  You will meet our orthodontist who will listen to your concerns and queries and will carry out a comprehensive examination of you or your child’s teeth and jaws.

He will then inform you whether you or your child can benefit from orthodontic treatment. If treatment is decided upon, we will discuss the treatment options, the length of treatment, the consequences of not having treatment and the cost involved.

Please note that your first appointment is complimentary.

What’s to follow?

Following your exam, should treatment be indicated, we shall make a second appointment to obtain x-rays impressions or 3d scans of your teeth. If time permits on exam appointment, we can collect this information. we shall formulate a customised treatment plan and discuss it during a consultation appointment.

When should we see your child for the first time?

Even though most people think of pre-teens and teens when they think of orthodontics, there are good reasons your child should get an orthodontic evaluation sooner. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a check-up with an orthodontic specialist no later than age 7.

The benefits of early assessment

  • The check-up may reveal that your child's dentition is fine and early treatment may not be necessary
  • If a developing problem is identified we may recommend monitoring your child’s growth and development at no cost*, and then if indicated, begin treatment at the appropriate time for the child. Visits may be scheduled once or twice a year.
  • Early treatment may prevent more serious problems from developing and may make treatment at a later age shorter and less complicated.

To book your free assessment please call us on 01 825 6060 or speak to a member of staff.

* A fee of €50 may apply should an x-ray be required
