On your first visit should you or your child be ready for orthodontic treatment we will present a range of treatment options with a range of fees.  We can commence treatment with a down payment for as little as €200 followed by monthly instalments of €200.

This initial appointment consists of a clinical examination which shall give us an insight into your / your child’s orthodontic problems and needs.  This appointment last about 30mins.  We shall take digital photos of your / your childs face and teeth.

If treatment is recommended you will be informed which treatment options would be most suitable and beneficial to you / your child, and given a guide to length of treatment and cost.

No, a lot of people come directly although some are referred by their dentist.

This appointment is free of charge.

We have several options for you to choose from, with interest free monthly payments an option:

Option 1

• The agreed cost of treatment is payable in instalments by standing order only. An initial instalment / down payment of approx. €800 is due before the appliances are placed, then €200 monthly by standing order only.

Option 2

• The agreed cost of treatment is paid in full before the appliances are placed, less discount agreed with your orthodontist. If treatment takes longer than anticipated there are no additional fees.

An orthodontist has completed 2-3 years full time training at an accredited university or dental school on top of the five years training (like your family dentist) to become a dentist. Like your orthopaedic surgeon or ENT specialists this extra training gives us a specialised knowledge. This knowledge is what we use to properly diagnose and treat dental/jaw-bite problems. Only an orthodontist can be registered on the specialist dental register.  

All of our specialist orthodontists are on the specialist dental register (Dental Council / Division of Orthodontics as of 4 August 2017). What’s more, our orthodontists are American, British and Irish trained. No other practise in Ireland has such a depth of knowledge and experience.

According to the American Association of Orthodontists the ideal age for children to have their first orthodontics assessment is 7 years.  In most cases we do not commence treatment at this age however, it does help us plan for the future. The optimum age for treatment in most cases is about 11 however, we have treated people ranging in age from 7-70!

Absolutely. 35% of our patients are adults.  With clear braces and Invisalign orthodontics can be a lot more discreet than it used to be.

Treatment times are generally shorter now than they were years ago because of improvements in orthodontic technology. The length of treatment required to create your beautiful healthy smile and stable bite will depend on each patient’s specific orthodontic problem. The average treatment length with braces is 18-24 months.

The need for removal of teeth has been dramatically reduced thanks to the introduction of new technology to orthodontics. Removal of teeth may be required only if severe crowding or bite problems are present.

Appointments are scheduled according to each patient’s needs, but technology allows us to extend the time between visits – most patients will be seen every 6 to 8 weeks. If there are specific situations that require more frequent monitoring, we will schedule appointments accordingly.

Generally, your teeth will not hurt during orthodontic treatment. The advances in orthodontic technology have resulted in dramatic improvements in patient comfort. After certain visits with braces or after changing Invisalign® aligners, the teeth may be sore for a few days. The soreness will be a mild reminder of the positive changes that are happening to your smile, but will rarely be severe enough to warrant pain medication. If an orthodontic patient is experiencing discomfort, Paracetamol or Nurofen can be taken.
